We're hiring full time professors and lecturers


Tired of just teaching grammar to bored students? Daekyeung University in Gyeongsan, SK is looking for talented individuals to teach courses in their fields.

Although master’s degrees are preferred, we value experience in the field as much if not more than degrees. We are looking for the following professionals with a minimum of a BS or BA:

1.     Film makers
2.     Thespians
3.     Models
4.     Chefs
5.     Pastry/Dessert chefs
6.     Dancers (classical or modern)
7.     Sports e.g. (Taekwondo, Golf, etc.)

Minimum qualifications:

1.  Applicants must be able to commence work by March 1, 2015 with a valid visa, otherwise the appointment shall be rescinded. The initial contract will be for one year.

2. Applicants must hold the minimum specified degree or higher in the designated field, or at least five years of relevant work experience.

3. Must have some experience teaching their respective subject as well as at least two years of English language instruction. 

4.  Applicants must be eligible for appointment according to private university regulations and satisfy the requirements for employment required by the Korean government. 

5. Applicants must be able to deliver lectures in English.

Employment conditions:

1.     Yearly salary range from 36M-40M KRW depending experience and qualifications.

2.     Office hours are 9:00 am – 6:00 pm

3.     Maximum 15 teaching hours (Major courses as well as Basic Conversation)

4.     Any teaching hours over 15 will be overtime.

5.     Assist the international affairs department in various duties. Teaching hours will be reduced if asked to work in the international affairs department.

6.     On campus housing is available. If the successful applicant has his/her own housing, a housing stipend will be negotiated separately.

7.     National medical insurance which is identical for all the staff and faculty members of the University is provided. 

8.     Severance pay is provided as prescribed by the pension law for private university employees for E2 visas. E1 visas will be enrolled The National Private School Teachers Pension.

9.     R/T Airfare once per contract for those coming from abroad.

10.  Must be able to work Summer and Winter Camps. Wages for the camp will be determined at a later date.

11.  Four weeks total vacation time. Two weeks in the summer and two weeks in the winter. Longer vacation times can be requested in certain circumstances.
